The SADC Standing Committee of Senior Officials, which is one of the statutory bodies of the regional organisation, will commence its meeting on Thursday, 6 August 2026, preceding the Council of Ministers scheduled for 12 August 2026, and the 46th SADC Summit scheduled for 16 and 17 August 2026.

In the meeting, South Africa will officially assume the role of Chair of the Standing Committee of Senior Officials and present the theme and priorities for the next twelve months.
