Message of Condolence by Dr Naledi Pandor, Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, on the Passing of Tata Andrew Mlangeni

The Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Dr Naledi Pandor, has learnt with sadness the passing of the last Rivonia Trialist, struggle icon and Isithwalandwe Seaparankwe, Tata Andrew Mlangeni.

On behalf of the Department of International Relations and Cooperation and the Ministry, I wish to express our heartfelt condolences to the Mlangeni family, his comrades, friends and the country to which he gave so much.

Minister Pandor said that Tata Mlangeni was the last of a sterling group of courageous, committed, trustworthy and dependable leaders whose sacrifice will forever remain inscribed in the history of South Africa.

“The impeccable vision his generation advanced helped us re-image the human agenda through positing not only the desirability but, indeed, the possibility of a united, democratic, non-racial, non-sexist and just society.

We will forever be indebted to him and his generation of leaders” Minister Pandor said.

May his soul rest in peace.
