The Embassy of the Republic of South Africa in Tokyo comprises of the following: Office of the Ambassador; Political Section; Trade and Investment Office; Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Section; Science, Technology and Innovation Office; Consular and Immigration Services; and Administration.
IMPORTANT NOTICES
The South African Embassy would like to notify clients that the Consular Section will be closed for a specified period. The last day for accepting visa applications will be 05 December 2025. The Consular Section will reopen for applications on 07 January 2026.
All other services will continue as usual, except on Public Holidays observed by the Embassy. We encourage clients to visit the Embassy’s website for a comprehensive list of these public holidays.

Announcement: FESTIVE SEASON
Closure during festive season:
- Wednesday 24 December 2025 – Embassy will be closed from 10:00.
- Thursday 25 December 2025 to Sunday 4 January 2026 – Embassy will be closed.
The Embassy will resume normal operation hours from Monday 5 January 2026.
