The delegation visited Switzerland on a study tour from 27 April -02 May 2026.

The Select Committee learned about the Swiss social welfare programmes, the social security systems, and public healthcare systems, including the National Health Insurance policy. The successful study tour was marked by visits to various institutions such as the World Health Organisation the Federal Social Insurance Office, the Federal Office of Public Health, and the Swiss Federal Assembly Parliament wherein the delegation had interesting and robust engagements on how the Swiss social welfare programmes, social security systems, including National Health Insurance policy is a success. The delegation noted how the roles by various stakeholders within the Swiss system interface and are coordinated to ensure high standards of healthcare and social security, including measures adopted to establish universal health coverage.
