South Africa and the Central African Republic (CAR) have enjoyed diplomatic relations since 1993 with the signing of the Exchange of Notes to Establish Diplomatic Relations.

The Framework Cooperation Agreement between South Africa and CAR was signed in 2006. The Agreement provides for political, economic, social, security, cultural, scientific and technical cooperation.

South Africa and the Central African Republic (CAR) enjoy warm diplomatic relations since 1993. The CAR opened its Embassy in Pretoria in 2010 and is currently headed by Ambassador Andre Nzapayeke. South African Embassy in Bangui opened in 2017 and Ambassador WMP Whitehead is the current South Africa’s representative to the CAR
