APPLICATION FOR VISITOR’S VISA
(Section 13 of THE SOUTH AFRICAN IMMIGRATION ACT)
(Please read carefully)

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: TOURISM/PRIVATE VISIT/BUSINESS VISIT

  • Visas do not confer the right to be admitted in South Africa; it serves as an authorisation to proceed to a Port of Entry for an examination and possible admission.
  • No fixed travel arrangements must be made prior to the issuing of the visa and the application must be submitted accompanied by an airline reservation.
  • No incomplete application will be accepted and applications completed in French will not be accepted. (PLEASE ALL SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS MUST BE IN ENGLISH).

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: HOLDERS OF ORDINARY PASSPORTS.

1. An application form duly completed in English with black pen and signed by the applicant. In the case of a minor, the form must be signed by the parents/legal guardian.

2. Two (2) passport-sized photographs.

3. A passport valid for no less than thirty (30) days after the intended visit.

4. The passport should have at least two (02) blank pages and accompanied by a copy of the data page of the passport. Non-refundable Visa fee XAF 32000(deposited into the mission bank account.)

5. Proof of sufficient financial means in the form of three (03) Months history of account bank statements certified by the bank. Where the applicant is hosted by a South African Citizen or Permanent Resident and his host is assuming responsibility for costs related to maintenance and repatriation of the applicant, the host must submit his/her bank statements.

6. Invitation clearly reflecting the purpose and period of visit.

IN CASE OF PRIVATE VISIT; (First visa of host into RSA and all previous renewals before issuing of current status)

i. Proof of status of the host (ID document, Permanent Residence Permit/Naturalisation Certificate or current visa of host in his/her passport)

ii. Utility account of host in the Republic.

TOURISM- BUSINESS

i. Hotel booking for the full period of the visit (Confirm).
ii. An invitation letter from the company in South Africa on the Letter Head of the company reflecting the CC Registration of the company.

7. Proof of applicants profession in the form of a letter from the Institution he/she is working, studying or proof that he/she is a business person.

8. in case applicant is going on a business related tour, a letter or Mission Order from his/her institution
reflecting clearly who will be responsible for expenses such as air ticket, ground transport, accommodation, meals and medical expenditure.

9. Proof of relationship with the host is required.

10. Original and the copy of yellow fever certificate. Polio vaccines also.

11. Where a child is travelling without parents, the birth certificate must be accompanied by an affidavit from the parents/legal guardian permitting the person travelling with the child. A copy of the ID documents, passport and contact detail of the parents/ legal guardian must be submitted.

a. In case of a minor, the parents or legal guardian must sign the form with the necessary proof
    Of kinship accompanied.

12. Unabridged Birth Certificate of the applicant/Marriage Certificate of the applicant/ Death Certificate where applicable.

13. Applications are to be lodged and passports collected in person. TRAVEL INSURANCE

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Only bank statements from ECOBANK, BICEC and BGIF will be accepted.

WARNING: Any applicant allowed entry into South Africa due to any misrepresentation or false declaration on this application form or who sojourns in the Republic in contravention of his/her visa/permit conditions, shall be guilty of an offence and liable to conviction to a fine or to imprisonment as an illegal foreigner.
