Minister Ronald Lamola paid a courtesy call on Professor Tshilidzi Marwala

Earlier today, the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Mr Ronald Lamola (who is on a working visit to Japan), paid a courtesy visit to Professor Tshilidzi Marwala at the United Nations University in Tokyo. Prof. Marwala is the Rector of the UNU and Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations.

Prior to taking up the role of UNU Rector on 1 March 2023, Prof. Marwala served as Vice-Chancellor and Principal of the University of Johannesburg (South Africa) from January 2018 through February 2023. In the video, Prof. Marwala and Minister Lamola speak about the UN’s priorities including Peace and Security, Climate Change and Artificial Intelligence. Prof. Marwala also addresses the UNU’s work and collaborations in South Africa.
