If you are applying for two children, you must book two appointments.\u00a0 <strong>You need to book one slot per child\/applicant.<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>Appointment Requirements:<\/strong><\/p><ul><li><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Ensure to come with BLACK INK pen <\/strong><\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Both parents must be present if the child is below 18 years old<\/strong><strong>.<\/strong><\/span><\/li><li><strong>Children who are 15 1\/2 years old and above must attend the appointment and have 4 copies of all documents.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>All application forms must be fully completed but not signed, as they must be signed in the presence of a Home Affairs Official.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Ensure to come with all originals and<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> 2 x copies of supporting documents (for children below 15 years of age)<\/span>, the official will certify them.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Ensure to come with all originals and<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> 4 x copies of supporting documents (for children 15 \u00bd years of age and above)<\/span>, the official will certify them.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>The bar-coded forms such as DHA-24, DHA-9 which cannot be downloaded, will be provided on the day of your appointment.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p><p><strong><u>FORMS AND DOCUMENTS: <\/u><\/strong><\/p><p>Prescribed forms to be completed in <strong>BLACK INK and BLOCK LETTERS<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>Form DHA-24<\/strong> for children to be registered <strong>before 30 days<\/strong>. (with four photos)<\/p><p><strong>DHA-24 and <a href=\"https:\/\/dirco.gov.za\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2024\/04\/DHA-288A.pdf\">DHA-288A<\/a><\/strong> for child to be registered <strong>before 12 months<\/strong>. (with four photos)<\/p><p><strong>DHA-24LR and DHA-288<\/strong> for registration of children aged between<strong> 1 YEAR to 15 years<\/strong>. (with 6 photos)<\/p><p><strong>DHA-24LR, DHA-288, DHA-24A and 2x DHA-9<\/strong> for registration of children aged between <strong>15 \u00bd years and above<\/strong> (with 8 photos).<\/p><p><a href=\"https:\/\/dirco.gov.za\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2024\/04\/DHA-288C.pdf\"><strong>DHA- 288C<\/strong><\/a>, to be <strong>completed by the father<\/strong> for registration of children if born out of wedlock.\u00a0 (Please do <strong><u>not<\/u><\/strong> sign the form)<\/p><p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dirco.gov.za\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2025\/06\/DHA-73.pdf\">DHA-73<\/a> (can be downloaded)<\/strong>, to be fully completed but do <strong>not<\/strong> sign.<\/p><p><strong>Form: <a href=\"https:\/\/dirco.gov.za\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2025\/06\/DHA-529.pdf\">BI\/DHA-529<\/a> x 3 (can be downloaded)<\/strong>, fully complete on both sides of the form (do not write N\/A and do not sign). You must complete <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">one form in the child\u2019s name<\/span> and <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">the other two forms for each SA parent<\/span>. Once completed, make 2xcopies of the completed form)<\/p><p>The purpose of the form is to establish that as a South African Citizen you have not lost your Citizenship and that all your details mentioned therein are according to the National population registrar.\u00a0<\/p><ul><li><strong>Specific Sections of the form DHA\/BI-529 to complete<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Part A:<\/strong> Questions 7 (if born outside SA only) 9, 10 and 11 are most important for the applicant. <strong>N.B<\/strong>. No.9 dates when you came to live in UK to work\/live for the 1<sup>st<\/sup> time number 10(d) must also be answered, with circling a No or a Yes. Circle \u201cNO\u201d if you never applied for the Retention of SA citizenship letter; Circle \u201cYes\u201d if you applied for a Retention letter previously. Please bring your Retention letter\/certificate with you on the day of your appointment.<\/p><p><strong>Part B:<\/strong> The relevant status can be written next to the words \u201cMarital Status\u201d on the form (e.g. Marital Status: Child\/Never married\/ Married\/ Divorced\/Widowed). The details of the applicant\u2019s current or former spouse must then be completed on the DHA-529, whether deceased or divorced or widowed)<\/p><ul><li>It is compulsory (even if you married a foreigner) to register the marriage\/divorce in RSA, if married\/divorced outside RSA.<\/li><li>For Legalization of UK marriage certificates and UK divorce decrees visit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/get-document-legalised\">https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/get-document-legalised<\/a><\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Part C and D<\/strong>: Both the parents\u2019 details must be completed including their ID numbers and foreign nationality (if any).<\/p><p><strong>Part E<\/strong>: Ensure that form DHA-529 is signed in the presence of Home Affairs Official. You can complete it with Valid telephone\/mobile number, email address (in block letters) and physical address must be completed before your appointment.<\/p><p><strong><u>DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED ON THE DAY OF YOUR APPOINTMENT: \u00a0\u00a0(<\/u><\/strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Original plus <strong>two copies for children under 15 years<\/strong> of age and <\/span><strong><u><span style=\"color: #008000;\">four copies for over 15 years and above<\/span>):<\/u><\/strong><\/p><ol><li>Child\u2019s (applicant\u2019s) <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">unabridged birth certificate<\/span> (where both the parents\u2019 names are mentioned)<\/li><li>Child\u2019s\/Applicant\u2019s passport (for applicants who have foreign passport)<\/li><li><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Proof of the foreign nationality<\/span> of the child\/applicant; a document that shows how and when the citizenship was obtained.
