To apply for 1st ID document and 1st adult passport, your child must be at least 15.9 years of age.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0The average processing time is four to five months.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0You can only apply for the new passport if the validity of your passport is less than 6 months.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

REQUIREMENTS:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Please ensure that you come with two sets of the following:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

  1. The original application forms with original supporting documents, and<\/strong><\/li>\n\n
  2. Three copies of the completed set (Application forms and supporting documents.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n

    CHECKLIST OF THE DOCUMENTS AND FORMS TO BE SUBMITTED:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

      \n
    1. Form DHA-73<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0(you can download the form from our website and complete it fully in black ink (do not sign the form).<\/li>\n\n
    2. Form BI\/DHA-529<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0fully completed on both sides in black ink (do not write N\/A, to be signed in front of the Home Affairs Official.<\/li>\n\n
    3. Form DHA-9<\/strong>\u00a0(This form cannot be downloaded, and you will get it in our office)<\/li>\n\n
    4. Child\u2019s (applicant\u2019s) SA unabridged birth certificate (where both the parents\u2019 names are mentioned)<\/li>\n\n
    5. Applicant\u2019s unabridged birth certificate if born in outside South Africa.<\/li>\n\n
    6. If you have dual nationality, please provide proof as to how and when you acquired the foreign nationality, such Naturalization \/Registration Certificate or foreign birth certificate issued by the Embassy\/ letter from the authorities stating the date you acquired the nationality. (Please note foreign passport is not a proof of foreign citizenship\/nationality as it does not indicate as to when(date) and how you acquired the citizenship)\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n
    7. Both the parents\u2019 documents such as their ID documents, passports, SA permits, SA birth certificates, their marriage certificates, proof of their foreign citizenship etc., Please note foreign passport is not a proof of foreign citizenship\/nationality as it does not indicate as to when(date) and how you acquired the citizenship)\u00a0<\/li>\n\n
    8. Marriage certificate \/ Legalised\/Apostille marriage certificate if married outside SA to be submitted by married applicants irrespective of they will or will not change their surname.<\/li>\n\n
    9. Six very clear professionally taken colour photos of full face of applicant, showing only head and shoulders measuring 35mm x 45mm. Without glasses and clear forehead (Not covered by hair)<\/li>\n\n
    10. 1st<\/sup>\u00a0ID document is free.<\/li>\n\n
    11. Processing fees (Non-Refundable) for an adult passport of\u00a0SEK 732<\/strong>\u00a0must be deposited electronically into the Embassy account.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n

      1. NP: Please be reminded that you will be required to present printed proof of payment when you attend the appointment.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n

        If you do not comply with the requirements, you will not be assisted and therefore you will have to book a new appointment.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n
