All visitors to South Africa must be in possession of onward\/return ticket and a valid visa.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Czech citizens who wish to work or study in South Africa need to apply for a work \/study permit at the South African Embassy in Prague at least 6 weeks before their departure.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong><em>In order to ascertain whether you require a visa, we URGE you to contact the Embassy.<\/em><\/strong><\/p><p>Alternatively, click on the following link: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dha.gov.za\">www.dha.gov.za<\/a>.<\/p><p>N.B. Individuals who are already in South Africa and intend to extend their stay beyond the period of 90 days need to apply for extension at the Department of Home Affairs. (Those staying for a period of 90 days and longer need to apply, in South Africa, for an extension.) More information can be found at the Department of Home Affairs website.<\/p><p><strong>Policy procedures at the Consular Section of the South African Embassy<\/strong><\/p><p>All applicants are requested to comply with the following procedures\/ requirements:<\/p><p><strong><em>Forwarding of application forms to the Embassy.<\/em><\/strong><\/p><ul><li>The Consular Section officials will check the application to ensure it conforms to the requirements. If additional supporting documents are required, the applicant will be informed in one of the following ways \u2013 telephonically or by e-mail.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Only after the application forms and ALL the necessary supporting documents have been received, the Embassy\/ Consular Section will collect the application fee from the applicant.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>After receipt of proof of payment, the Embassy will proceed with the application. From this date, the processing period will be 10 (ten) to 15 (fifteen) days to a month for long term permits.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Each application is processed on merit and therefore at times may require additional information\/ documentation.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>According to the <em>New Immigration Act<\/em> the holder of a Czech passport is not required to hold a visa in respect of purposes for which a visitor\u2019s permit may be issued for an intended stay of 90 (ninety) days or less and when in transit.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Foreigners who are in Czech Republic on short term visas (holiday, etc.), will not be accommodated for visa applications as they must apply for visas to visit South Africa from their countries of origin.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong><em>PLEASE NOTE:\u00a0 Holders of Czech passports attending business trips for less than 90 days must be in possession of an invitation letter from a SA firm\/company stating the purpose and duration of visit. The letter must be accompanied by any form of identity of the person who signed the letter. The submission of an e-mailed invitation is not acceptable.<\/em><\/strong><\/p><p><strong>GENERAL REQUIREMENTS IN RESPECT OF VISA APPLICATIONS FOR AN INTENDED STAY OF MORE THAN 90 DAYS AND LESS\/OR 90 DAYS<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>A valid passport. The applicant\u2019s passport should be valid for at least 1 month beyond the expiry date of the visa and should contain at least two (2) blank visa pages.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>One visa application form per applicant. Application forms must be signed by the applicant. Application forms of minor children issued with separate passports must be completed and signed by their both parents. It is not required for children to submit a separate visa application form if they are endorsed in the parent\u2019s passport.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Two recent passport photographs signed on the reverse side, must accompany each visa application form. If the child is endorsed in the parents\u2019 passport, the photography of the child should be attached.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Children under the age of 18 travelling without one or both parents must provide written consent of the non-accompanying parent\/s for the child\u2019s travel to the RSA, which should be certified by a Commissioner of Oaths or a Notary. Proof of the court order is required in the event that one of the parents has sole custody of the child\/children.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>All travelers regardless of the purpose of visit must submit the insurance policy.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Visa fee: CZK910 per visa application payable in Czech Koruna.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Waiting period for visas: 10 to 15 working days from the day the visa<\/li><\/ul><p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 application has been registered by the Embassy. The aforementioned<\/p><p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 period does not apply to applications whereby the Embassy requires<\/p><p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 additional information regarding the application.<\/p><p>The Embassy may require additional documents in individual cases the applicant will be informed accordingly.<\/p><p><strong>VISITING FAMILY AND\/OR FRIENDS<\/strong><\/p><p>Copy of the first page of SA identity document (ID book) of the South African host and invitation letter.<\/p><p>The invitation letter should contain:<\/p><ul><li>The proposed duration of stay.<\/li><li>Confirmation of maintenance given for the duration of stay in the RSA.<\/li><li>Full residential and postal address of South African host.<\/li><li>Confirmation of own funds of the SA host: bank statement or salary advice.<\/li><li>A copy of a return ticket\/return flight booking\/itinerary.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>TOURIST VISIT ON OWN FUNDS<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Confirmation of own funds \u2013 equivalent of $500 per person for 1 (one) week of stay \u2013 bank statement.<\/li><li>Hotel booking with confirmation of pre-payment (or full payment).<\/li><li>Itinerary.<\/li><li>Copy of a return ticket\/return flight booking\/itinerary.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>TOURIST VISIT WITH TOUR OPERATOR<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Tour Operators to submit confirmation of payment, the services provided and itinerary (preferably in English) together with visa applications.<\/li><li>Copy of a return ticket\/return flight booking\/itinerary.<\/li><li>Tour Operators are kindly requested to coordinate the submission of the applications with the Embassy. This would enable the Embassy to schedule the issuance of the visas.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>BUSINESS PURPOSES<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>A letter of invitation from a company in the RSA with contact particulars (postal address, tel. and fax numbers). A copy of any form of identity of the person who signs the letter.<\/li><li>The submission of an e-mail address as a contact reference is not acceptable. The letter of invitation and identity document copy can be faxed or send by e-mail as an attachment.<\/li><li>A supporting letter from the company the applicant represents, stating the nature of the applicants\u2019 business in South Africa.<\/li><li>A copy of a return ticket\/return flight booking\/itinerary.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>PLEASE NOTE: IF ADDITIONAL INFORMATION IS REQUIRED, PLEASE CONTACT VISA\/CONSULAR SECTION OF THE EMBASSY.<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>HEALTH REQUIREMENTS<\/strong><\/p><p><em>Yellow Fever<\/em><\/p><p>A person seeking to enter the Republic of South Africa may be required to produce an international health certificate containing details of vaccination.<\/p><p>Immunization for yellow fever is a requirement if the journey starts or entails passing through the yellow fever belt of Africa or South America.
