provided free of<br \/><br \/>charge, unless otherwise specified.<br \/><br \/>Any South African who requires Consular assistance can contact the Embassy<br \/><br \/>Emergency line on +33 6 09 67 06 93 which is available on a 24-hour basis<br \/><br \/>A valid form of identification may be requested, depending on the service required.<br \/><br \/><strong>Consular Services provided by the Embassy:<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Non-financial humanitarian assistance in emergencies (i.e. situations involving destitution or distress of South African nationals abroad).<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>It Includes providing a support service\u00a0in hostage cases as well as assistance rendered to South African nationals in cases of political turmoil or natural disasters.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>In the event of an emergency, the Embassy communicates on behalf of South African nationals abroad with the next of kin and\/or friends in South Africa.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Non-financial assistance for South African nationals who are in hospital abroad, e.g. who\u00a0may need to be repatriated to South Africa for urgent medical or professional attention.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Communication with the next of kin in the event of, e.g. reported death or life-threatening illness or injury.<\/li><li>We also provide limited logistical assistance with the importation of mortal remains (including import permit applications) or burials of South African nationals abroad, however, <strong>we do not provide financial assistance <\/strong>for these services.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Provide guidance to next of kin and liaison with relevant stakeholders in the search for missing persons abroad and\/or determination of the whereabouts of South African nationals abroad under certain circumstances.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Advice, guidance and support to a parent\/guardian in matters of child abduction in collaboration with the Office of the Chief Family Advocate where required, in cases of abduction of South African children to foreign countries.\u00a0 Where there is evidence that the health and safety of the child is in jeopardy, the matter is treated as a priority, however, the Embassy is not in a position to guarantee the return of the child.<\/li><li>Abduction and kidnapping cover forcible restrictions on the freedom of movement of persons for different outcomes.<\/li><li>Assistance and support to detained SA citizens<\/li><\/ul><p><a href=\"https:\/\/outlook.office365.com\/owa\/calendar\/AmbassadedAfriqueduSudParis@dirco.gov.za\/bookings\/\" This can be done in terms of Rule 63 2 (e) of the Rules of the High Court of South Africa. It is essential that you first speak to your South African lawyer before using the services of a Notary Public in France.<\/li><li>You will find a listing of Notaries in your local Directory.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>SERVICES THAT WE DO NOT RENDER AT THE SOUTH AFRICAN EMBASSY<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>We do not Institute court proceedings or obtain legal advice on behalf of South African nationals<\/li><li>We do not secure a release from prison\/detention of South African nationals to secure bail or an early trial.<\/li><li>We do not intervene in court and legal
