The department embraces relevant national priorities by strengthening bilateral cooperation with individual countries, particularly through focussing on increasing exports of South African goods and services, foreign direct investment with technology transfers into value\u2010added industries and mineral beneficiation, and inbound tourism and skills enhancement.<\/p><p>The Republic of South Africa and the Republic of Mali established formal diplomatic relations in May 1994 followed by the opening of embassies\/official representation in 1995 and 2002 respectively.
