About Us
Welcome to the website of the Embassy of South Africa to Malabo, Equatorial Guinea. We trust that the page will give our visitors all the information one would like to know regarding our international relations, aspirations and goals.
As we move forward over the next four years, we are confident that Equatorial Guinea will remain a partner in our effort to build a mutual beneficial relationship between our two countries, mutually aware and guided by the two countries’ solid National Development Plans (NDP) that seeks to guide our actions and establish the priorities of our international relations mandate.
Since the formalization of diplomatic relations between South Africa and Equatorial Guinea in 1993, great progress has been made in strengthening relations between the two countries. Consequently, we have identified specific areas for cooperation and mutual socio-economic development including agriculture, health, trade & investments, tourism, manufacturing, infrastructure, industrial, as well as education and training of small specialized groups as areas that will need our concerted effort, as we continue to deepen the implementation of the African Union Agenda 2063 harnessing the African Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) for Africa’s renaissance.
To this end, the information you would like regarding South Africa’s foreign relations practices will be available on this page and will be conducted by all departments of the South African Government and different sectors of the South African community and trade.
Subsequently, South Africa will continue to promote a vision of an African continent, which is prosperous, peaceful, democratic, non-racial, non-sexist and united and contributing to a just and equitable world.
We will support regional integration efforts on the African continent, key to economic growth and intra-African trade as a tenet of the AfCFTA.
During this year, we will continue to galvanize support for major infrastructure projects and industrialization in various sectors in Equatorial Guinea and the CEMAC region as we must do in support of NEPAD imperatives.
South Africa will also continue to play a leading role in striving to bring peace and stability to Africa, and in promoting people-to-people relations through tourism and other means aimed at achieving these goals, working with other member states of the African Union and the entire world.
I trust that this page and its connections will assist you appropriately in your quest to get to know South Africa.
Best regards.
