Consular services

The Embassy of South Africa in Amman offers consular assistance to citizens of South Africa in Jordan and Iraq.

Contact the Embassy on the service required, a valid form of identification may be requested. You may wish to first call to determine the processes / documents that will be required.

Consular Services are of an advisory and non-financial nature and are provided free of charge, unless otherwise specified.

Emergency Consular Services are available on a 24-hour basis. For emergency services, please contact the Embassy’s after-hours telephone number + 962 7 9552 0245 or the Chief Directorate: Consular Services in South Africa during office hours or the DIRCO’s Early Warning Services in Pretoria at telephone number + 27 (0)12 351-1000 after-hours.

Officials at the Early Warning Services will liaise with the Chief Directorate: Consular Services, which will be available to provide guidance and assistance after hours and over weekends.
