The dtic\u2019s mission is to: <\/strong><\/p>

  • Promote structural transformation, towards a dynamic industrial and globally competitive economy<\/li>
  • Provide a predictable, competitive, equitable and socially responsible environment, conducive to investment, trade and enterprise development<\/li>
  • Broaden participation in the economy to strengthen economic development<\/li>
  • Continually improve the skills and capabilities of the dtic <\/strong>to effectively deliver on its mandate and respond to the needs of South Africa\u2019s economic citizens<\/li>
  • Co-ordinate the contributions of government departments, state entities and civil society to effect economic development<\/li>
  • Improve alignment between economic policies, plans of the state, its agencies, government\u2019s political and economic objectives and mandate<\/li><\/ul>

    TRADE <\/strong><\/p>

    The Economic Division offers advice and support to South African exporters and Japanese importers, as well as facilitate business activities, ie. investments into South Africa. To carry out this mandate, the Economic Section regularly interacts with Japanese and South African business stakeholders, especially industry and sector customers through various forums, advisory bodies, stakeholder meetings, conferences, exhibitions and business missions.<\/p>

    INVESTMENT <\/strong><\/p>

    The Economic Section is responsible for promoting South Africa as a prime destination for investment. Offerings provided by the Economic Section include:<\/p>

    • Identifying potential investors<\/li>
    • Promoting investment opportunities in key sectors<\/li>
    • Facilitating investment into South Africa from Japan<\/li>
    • Providing general information on investing in South Africa<\/li>
    • Arranging outward investment missions<\/li>
    • Facilitating funding and government support<\/li>
    • Export promotion<\/li><\/ul>

      The Economic Division is responsible for promoting South African goods and services into the Japanese market.<\/p>
